Default scoreline Empty Default scoreline

Post by surgicalassasin Thu Jan 24, 2008 9:48 am

This is just a thought .. I think that if some one defaults on their game, they shud be docked something like 3 goals like it happens online for a DNF .. where i am coming from is that .. if towards the end of the season, u know that u will be at an advantage if u lose by just a goal cos u will lead the guy below u on Goal difference.. then u can just default for ur game .. if ur going to be docked only 1 goal .. Exclamation

what do u guys think ???? bounce

in fairness i know a default win till now has been 1-0
but i think it should be 3-0 cos in real life thats what it would be
and in fifa thats what they call to choose it
its just a thought
i respect the league admin decision but they wouldnt make it 3-0 for a d/c if it wouldnt count for antying in real life

I think it terms on disconnection a note should be made of the time left and the current scoreline.

Then another match set up, get the game to that scoreline then play the remainder of the match.

Game should be played as soon as possible afterwards.

If the losing team disagrees then they should be docked 3 points.

But after re-reading your post it seems you mean if a team doesn't turn up? In this case I think all reasonable efforts should be made by the admins to find out who tried to arrange the match: then dock the other team 3 points, unless they have a valid reason for not turning up.

That way there would be no advantage as you'd loose points rather than Goal difference.

but it would be unfair denying the person who DID turn up the default win
cos its gonna affect teams at the top of the league further on in the season
if they didnt get a win but the other team was docked points.

yes your right and other sites do use 3-0... but we thought 3-0 was a big gift of goals and at the end of the season..it could go down to goal difference

at the moment not only do users get 3pts they also get a clean sheet and a +1 goal....i thought this was fair!!!

Look at this scenario .. Team 1 leads the lague with 30 points and one game remaining .. Team 2 has 30 points and is second in the league with all the games finished. The goal difference between the teams is 2. Team 1 has a tricky last game and knows that if he loses by more than 2 goals Team 2 is the champion. If he defaults he is the champion even though he has lost.

I am not saying that this is going to happen in our league .. I am more than sure that none of our players would stoop down to that level .. but still I feel 1-0 is just a lil on the softer side for a default loss.. That is what am saying .. It could atleast be 2-0 if not 3-0 .. I really think 3-0 should be a strong enough deterrant, unless the player who defaulted has some really genuine reason as to why he did so ..

Again .. just a thought .. Smile
